Jaguar Land Rover India reports 16% growth in their 2018 sales.
Rohit Suri, President & Managing Director, Jaguar Land Rover India Ltd. (JLRIL) said, “The auto industry faced strong headwinds in 2018, especially in the second half with tight liquidity conditions, increased upfront insurance costs and increased lending rates.
Despite that, the growth of Jaguar Land Rover in India has been very encouraging for us and we continue to focus on strong product launches and an ever improving customer experience in 2019 for the two iconic brands, Jaguar and Land Rover.”
In 2017 this brand reports 3954 units sold, but this year they sold 4596 units and it is 16% higher then the last one. There is one more fact that is obviously not a surprise, that most of the sales figures have been contributed by its SUVs. In 2018 Land Rover Discovery Sport, Range Rover Evoque, Jaguar F-PACE, XE and XF were the most contributing units by the Jaguar Land Rover India.
Range Rover Velar, Range Rover Evoque Convertible, MY Range Rover and Range Rover Sport, Jaguar F-PACE 2.0-litre petrol and a 50th anniversary Jaguar XJ50 were some new launches in 2018. These all models have got very good response in the Indian 4-wheeler market bu consumers and critics both.
There is no surprise that Tata Motors is very excited too see their SUV success in the Indian market and they could reveal their Concept of Tata Hornbill in the Geneva Motor Show 2019 in France. SUVs are becoming the first choice for Indian 4-wheeler consumers and this is the reason that all other cars manufacturer are launching their SUVs in India.
Tata Harrier is also about to launch in India and some other SUV in the premium segment also made debut in last few months like Mahinda Alturas. This SUV is here to head on with Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. Tata Hornbill will head on with the micro SUVs in India like Maruti Suzuki Ignis and other .
